Hello!
I am Hyeyoung Koh. I am an Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University. My research group focuses on steel structures as well as other structural systems, with an emphasis on enhancing their design and analysis for resilience and sustainability. Representative research topics include thermodynamics in steel structures, AI-aided structural design, and structural performance assessment using advanced sensing technologies such as fiber optic sensing.
Before joining WSU, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my PhD in December 2022 from UW Madison and my BS and MS in Architectural Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea.
I am currently looking for a postdoctoral scholar who can start in Summer or Fall 2026 and has a background in Structural Engineering, with strong expertise in data analytics and programming. Interested candidates are encouraged to send their CV to hyeyoung.koh (at) wsu (dot) edu.
